Definitions

Design is a protean discipline that combines creativity and sensitivity with technology and economics to improve our quality of life with better products, experiences and services.

Product design

Product design defines the form and appearance of a tangible product to be manufactured as a one-off piece, in a small series or industrially. While respecting technical and regulatory requirements, product designers aim to combine aesthetic, ergonomic and functional quality to meet the expectations of users and enhance their quality of life. Product design produces desirability, making it a key component of brand value. As such, it often incorporates aspects of graphic design, UX / UI, sound design and brand design.

Sound design

Sound design is the art of using sound elements to achieve a desired effect. It is used in a variety of fields such as advertising, audio books, video game development and user interface building, as well as in cinema, theater, and music recording and mixing.

Spatial design

Spatial design is the set of techniques used in interior design and signage.

Textile design

Textile design is the process of designing the appearance and structure of fabrics and surfaces resulting from the transformation of textiles, most commonly for clothing and interior decoration but also for automobiles, sport, aerospace, etc.

User Experience (UX) Design

UX (User Experience) refers to the quality of the user’s interaction with and perceptions of an interface, digital device, system or service.

User Interface (UI) Design

UI design, or interface design, consists in the graphic and functional design of user interfaces for machines and electronic devices (websites, software, connected objects, etc.).

Who said?

Design is a funny word. Some people think design means how it looks. But of course, if you dig deeper, it's really how it works.
